Live-in Care for Couples

Stay together, at home. A live-in carer supporting a couple is often more cost-effective than two care home places — and it spares the heartbreak of partners being separated late in life.

What we provide

Personal care delivered with skill, empathy and continuity.

Care for both partners

A single matched live-in carer supporting both partners' personal care, meals, medication prompts and daily routine.

Dementia + well-spouse

When one partner has dementia and the other is well, the carer supports both — protecting the well partner from burnout.

Shared meals and routine

The two of you keep eating together, watching the same television, sleeping in the same room — life largely unchanged.

Discreet personal care

Patient, dignified washing, dressing and continence support tailored to each partner's preferences.

Household and admin

Cooking, light housekeeping, shopping and paperwork so the home runs smoothly around the care.

Planned step-up support

When needs grow, we plan additional cover, two-carer arrangements or transitions calmly with the family.

Common questions

What families ask us most.

Can one carer really support a couple?

Yes — when needs are reasonably manageable, one live-in carer commonly supports a couple in the same home. Where both partners have high needs we discuss two-carer arrangements.

Is couples live-in care cheaper than two care home places?

Almost always. The rate for couples is typically a modest uplift on the single rate, while two residential places usually cost close to double — making this one of the most cost-effective options in care.

What if one partner has dementia and the other doesn't?

This is one of our most common situations. We match a carer with the right dementia experience while also supporting the less-affected partner — keeping you both at home, together.

What happens if one partner is admitted to hospital?

We coordinate the arrangement so the carer continues to support the partner at home, and we plan rapid additional cover for the discharge.
